This is an inflammatory bowel disorder (IBD) that usually affects the small bowel and colon, but can affect other areas as well.

It usually presents with abdominal pain, diarrhea, blood in the stools, weight loss and anemia. The disease has a variable course and some patients can have severe disease requiring surgical removal of affected segments of the bowel. Newer biological drugs are invariably required to control severe disease.

Patients with Crohn’s disease are also at risk of developing bone and joint disorders and skin problems. I work with a team of excellent radiologists, pathologists, rheumatologists and surgeons and can provide you with an opinion regarding troublesome Crohn’s disease.
