Most chronic liver diseases such as alcohol related liver disease, non-alcoholic fatty liver, chronic hepatitis B and C lead to progressive liver damage. With increasing liver damage, the liver develops scarring or fibrosis that makes the liver firm.

A Fibroscan is a type of scan that can measure the stiffness of your liver, which in turn reflects the degree of /fibrosis in your liver. It is a simple, non-invasive and painless test which gives immediate results. It is the single most accurate bedside measurement of severity of chronic liver disease.
